What is Double Gauze? All about muslin fabric
Double Gauze, also known as muslin or cotton gauze, is one of the most popular fabrics for babywear, children’s clothing and airy women’s fashion. This unique fabric quality consists of two thin layers of 100% cotton, loosely connected to each other. The result? A wonderfully soft, breathable fabric with a natural crinkle texture – ideal for comfortable and stylish garments.
The fabric is woven in plain weave using slightly twisted yarns, which creates the typical crinkled effect. Thanks to its natural cotton base, the fabric is skin-friendly, highly absorbent and non-iron.

Thanks to its soft, breathable, and lightweight structure, it is perfect for making baby items such as swaddles and muslin cloths. Moreover, its 100% natural cotton composition makes it highly absorbent, which also makes it ideal for burp cloths and bath swaddles.
All printed Double Gauze GOTS fabrics are certified to Oeko-Tex Class 1, meaning they are completely safe for the sensitive skin of newborns and babies. This certification ensures the fabric is free from harmful substances, providing extra peace of mind for parents who choose safe and natural materials.

This certification was issued by Centexbel under certification number 1501004.
In addition to the Oeko-Tex certification, we offer over 70 colours of Double Gauze certified with GOTS by Control Union (1010800), as well as a selection of printed Double Gauze.
